Wednesday February 7, ASW explore the nature of good intentions vs. action through personal writing and a relevant short story.
- Students will begin class by reading the short story, “The Marble Dome” by Zulfikar Ghose.
- After reading, students will work in groups to discuss the story, with a specific emphasis on the importance of treating other people well, and the difference between good intentions and good actions.
- Students will then write in a style of their choosing, in a way that ties their personal lives into the story they read earlier in the class.
- Students will review their own writing, and the writing of others in their groups, in preparation for using the piece as part of a culminating activity.
- Students will engage in a large group discussion concerning the method they chose to respond, and why they chose that particular method.
