Museum of Science and Industry Field Trip

On February 9, 2007, GRAPCEP Biomedical and Engineering High School sophomores went to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, Illinois. At the museum, students had the opportunity to explore and interact with exhibits, not just view displays and artifacts.

In addition to exploring the museum, students had to complete assignments directly related to several academic areas.

  • In English and science, students explored and interacted with Decoding Genetics exhibit. Part of their assignment was to write a letter regarding various genetic issues which included a solution to these issues.
  • In social studies at the Transportation exhibit, students had to complete an assignment on the development of airplane flight.
  • In math, students had to perform calculations involving the Pioneer Zephyr.

The Museum of Science and Industry trip was a wonderful trip! The students came back with an appreciation for science and industry.
